Accommodation FAQ – EAN Congress 2027

This FAQ is intended to support with practical information regarding hotel accommodation in Gothenburg.

Austropa Interconvention has been appointed as the official housing office for the EAN Congress 2027. The team is responsible for coordinating the hotel room allotments and assisting participants with all accommodation-related enquiries.

By booking through the official housing office, participants benefit from:

  • Access to officially contracted hotels reserved for EAN 2027 participants

  • Clearly defined booking, payment and cancellation conditions

  • Hotels with convenient public transport connections to the congress venue

  • Professional support from the accommodation team before and during the congress

A wide range of hotels has been secured, including 5-star, 4-star and 3-star hotels. All hotels offer convenient access to public transportation in Gothenburg.

Availability is limited and subject to change.

The EAN Congress 2027 will be held at Gothia Towers, Gothenburg.

Most hotels included in the official EAN portfolio are well connected to Gothia Towers via direct public transport lines. Travel times typically range from 10 to 25 minutes. Several hotels are even within walking distance of the venue.

Please note that EAN does not provide any shuttle services. Delegates are expected to use public transport or arrange their own transport.

Yes. All published rates are per room, per night and include breakfast, service charges, and all applicable taxes.

  • Individual bookings: up to 4 rooms
  • Group bookings: from 5 rooms (group request required)

Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

Yes. A credit card guarantee is required to confirm all hotel reservations made through the official booking system.

  • Cancellations received until 12 March 2027: a handling fee of EUR 70.00 per cancelled room will be charged
  • Cancellations received from 13 March 2027: one night’s room rate will be charged

In the event of a shortened stay or no-show, the hotel is entitled to charge all pre-booked nights.

In case of a no-show, the reservation will be released after the first night. Applicable cancellation or no-show fees will be charged to the provided credit card.

Conference Venue – Gothia Towers Gothenburg

The EAN 2027 Congress will take place at the Gothia Towers / Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg.

This modern congress complex is one of the largest integrated meeting and exhibition facilities in Scandinavia and offers extensive conference space, exhibition areas, and hotel accommodation.

Located in the heart of Gothenburg at Korsvägen, the venue provides excellent access to public transport and is surrounded by restaurants, cultural attractions, and entertainment facilities.

Public Transport Connections to Gothia Towers

Gothia Towers is centrally located at Korsvägen, offering excellent connections to tram and bus lines as well as convenient access to the airport. Numerous tram and bus routes stop at Korsvägen, making it one of Gothenburg’s main public transport hubs. It is also one of the stops served by the airport bus from Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

The Korsvägen stop is located approximately 100 metres from the entrance of Gothia Towers.

Arriving by Train
From Gothenburg Central Station take tram line 2 (towards Krokslätt) or tram line 4 (towards Mölndal). From Brunnsparken you can also take tram line 5 (towards Östra Sjukhuset). All of these lines stop at Korsvägen, directly opposite the Gothia Towers.

Arriving by Air
The Flygbussarna airport coaches operate between Göteborg Landvetter Airport and Gothenburg city centre. The journey takes approx. 20 minutes.
The airport bus stops at Korsvägen / Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre, directly opposite Gothia Towers.
This is the first stop when arriving from the airport and the last stop when departing to the the airport, making it particularly convenient for congress participants staying at or near the venue.

Booking and Cancellation Conditions

Booking information
* Rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis according to availability.
* A credit card guarantee is required to secure your reservation.
* All hotel expenses must be paid directly during the online booking process. The number of nights booked in advance will serve as the basis for your hotel invoice. Please note that the hotel is entitled to charge all pre-booked nights.

Cancellation
* For room cancellations received until 12 March 2027, a handling fee of EUR 70.00 per cancelled room will be charged to your credit card.
* For room cancellations received from 13 March 2027, one (1) night of the room rate will be charged to your credit card.
* The pre-booked nights are binding for the hotel. In case of a shortened stay, the hotel is entitled to charge all pre-booked nights. In the event of a No-Show, the reservation will be released after the first night.
* In case of cancellation or No-Show, Austropa Interconvention is authorized to charge your credit card with the applicable cancellation fees.

Austropa Interconvention acts solely as an agent and cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property, regardless of the cause. The liability of the companies or individuals providing transportation or other services remains unaffected. Austropa Interconvention cannot be held liable for the partial or complete cancellation of the congress, or for any change in its date. In the event that the congress is cancelled or rescheduled by the congress organiser, Austropa Interconvention shall not be liable for any costs incurred or disadvantages suffered, including consequential losses, resulting from such cancellation or change of date.

Both parties shall be released from their contractual obligations under this Agreement in cases of “force majeure.” Events deemed to constitute force majeure include: war, occupation, riot, strike, complete breakdown of public utilities, and complete suspension of air traffic (except for weather-related or strike-related reasons), provided that the hotel and its operations are directly affected.

In the event of a cancellation or change of date of the congress, as well as in cases of force majeure, all expenses already incurred—particularly processing and administrative costs—shall be charged to the company/contractor.

The accommodation provider may offer guests suitable alternative accommodation (of equivalent quality), provided that this is reasonable for the guests—especially when the difference is minor and objectively justified. Such justification may include situations where rooms become unusable, previously accommodated guests extend their stay, the property is overbooked, or other important operational circumstances make a change necessary. Any additional expenses arising from such substitute accommodation shall be borne by the hotel.

For all disputes arising from this Agreement, both contracting parties expressly submit to the court having subject-matter jurisdiction in Vienna, which shall be the exclusive venue. Austrian law shall apply.

Getting Around Gothenburg

Gothenburg is easily accessible by air, rail, and road, with excellent connections to many European cities.

Göteborg Landvetter Airport (GOT) is located approximately 25 kilometres from the city centre and offers numerous international connections. Airport buses run regularly between the airport and the city centre and stop at several major transport hubs, including Korsvägen near the congress venue.

Gothenburg Central Station (Göteborgs Centralstation) provides frequent rail connections to Stockholm, Copenhagen and other Scandinavian and European cities. From the central station the congress venue can easily be reached by tram or taxi within a few minutes.

Gothenburg has an efficient public transport network consisting of trams and buses. The Korsvägen stop, located directly next to the congress venue, is one of the city’s main transport hubs and provides convenient access to many areas of the city.

  • Roads to the city centre are well-signposted via the E6 and E20 highways.

Tips for Delegates:

  • Plan your trip in advance, especially during peak arrival times.

  • The airport bus is often the most cost-effective and reliable option for delegates.

  • Taxis are available at airports, train stations, and major hotels. Fares vary depending on distance and time of day; it’s recommended to ask for an estimated fare before departure.

  • Popular apps such as Uber and Bolt operate in Gothenburg. Booking through apps allows you to see fare estimates, track your driver, and pay digitally
